OnePlus 6T vs Asus Zenfone 5Z - Specifications

OnePlus has, over the past few years, emerged as a very popular brand in the premium mid-range smartphone market. It has consistently launched amazing value for money devices twice a year to gain the majority market share in India.

Asus, however, has struggled to make a mark in the premium mid-range smartphone segment in India.

Thanks to its well-received Zenfone and Zenfone 2 series in the budget segment, it has failed to entice its users to buy its premium devices. However, after multiple missteps, it has a winner on its hands with the Zenfone 5Z. Thanks to its premium specifications and affordable price, Asus Zenfonr 5Z is easily recommendable to anyone.

Let's see how it compares to the newly launched OnePlus 6T.

It is quite clear without a doubt that the OnePlus 6T is a better device, at least on paper, when compared to the Asus Zenfone 5Z.

But are its advantages worth the price difference?

You Decide based on the comparison!

Final Thoughts

OnePlus 6 was an already amazing Android smartphone, and the new OnePlus 6T has built upon its strengths and added a few more extra features never heard of in this price segment. Without a doubt, OnePlus 6T, just like its predecessor is one of the, if not the, best Android smartphones you can buy right now.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z, on the other hand, is quite a capable device itself. It offers plenty of amazing features. It had launched initially at a price of Rs 30,000 but now retails for Rs 25,000. At this price, it's a great device to buy and can easily be recommended to anyone.

So which smartphone is better?

I still feel the OnePlus 6T is the best choice if you can afford its price, which has risen to almost Rs 40,000/- in India. Surely there are multiple launch day offers available right now but it still is a comparatively expensive smartphone. But IMO, it justifies its cost to quite an extent. It has a great camera, clean and fast Android experience (even better than the Pixel IMO), gets fast Android and looks premium as well.

However, if you don't want to spend so much money and don't care about having the best camera in this price segment, then Asus Zenfone 5Z is a great buy. With its second wide angle lens, it does offer much more flexibility in smartphone photography than the OnePlus 6T.
