Free Video Editing Software for Windows 10

Best Free Video Editor on Android!

Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker was one of the best free software that was shipped with Windows before Windows 10. It was simple to use and highly useful.

However, with the initial Windows 10 update, this application was dropped from the OS.

However, on popular demand, Microsoft has again added this application back to Windows. In its 2017 Fall Creators update, Microsoft rolled out a video editor built into its photos app. It did not get its own app, but it maintained all the functionalities and ease of use that the Windows Movie Maker was known for.

It is simple and easy to use. Just import your photos and clips into the project library and then add them to the storyboard (timeline). There are options to add custom music, text and filters to your photos and clips.

If you have Windows 10 running with the 2017 creators update, you will have this free video editor built into your Windows 10 PC/laptop.

VSDC Free Video Editing Software

VSDC offers a free video editor which is one of the best free video editing software one can download and use on Windows.

Though the company also offers a paid version which has some advanced features for professionals, the free version is more than sufficient for novices and casual users.

The free version has no restrictions, trial period or watermark of any sort.

This app is a non-linear video editor, which means you can have multiple video streams running at the same time, unlike the Windows Movie Maker mentioned above.

DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is another amazing video editor available for Windows 10. Just like VSDC, it also offers 2 editors, one paid and one free.

The paid one has advanced features which appeal to the professional video editors. In fact, the paid version is quite popular among the film community as well.

The free version is more than appropriate for the general usual. Just like VSDC, this editor is also non-linear and offers a professional look.

Final Thoughts

The three free video editing software mentioned above are the best free apps you can find currently for Windows.

Despite their free nature, they are adequately powerful to handle the requirements of even intermediate level users.

So if you are budding YouTuber, or just need a software for creating own custom videos and movies from photos and videos, you can use either of these three devices on your Windows PC/laptop. You won't be disappointed with any.
