Xiaomi has Completely lost the plot! | Xiaomi Y2 to launch in June 2018

Xiaomi

There was a time when Xiaomi was a brand to reckon in the budget to the mid-range smartphone market in India.

They always released great value for money smartphones at aggressive prices.

However, of late, they seem to have completely lost the plot. The success that they have achieved in this price segment has made them either too complacent or they just can't seem to focus on what the end consumer wants.

The Problem with Xiaomi

Just take a look at all the smartphone series they have under Rs 15000.

There is the regular Redmi, then the Redmi Y series, then the redmi note series, then the Mi M series and the Mi Max series.

And whats even more interesting is the fact that almost all the smartphones currently in these series are running on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is very old now, and have MIUI 9 running on either Android Marshmallow or Android Nougat.

Why does a company need almost 5-10 smartphones under Rs 15000, with similar specifications?
And as if the launch of Redmi Note 5 recently wasn't enough, the company is ready to launch the successor to the Y series lineup in June, again (rumored to be) powered by Snapdragon 625.

With all the rumored specs similar to what we have already seen, it seems like another typical device.

Clearly looks like Xiaomi wants to have their company's smartphone to sell at every 1000 rs price difference. Or maybe, they are just dumping all that they can in India.

However, with amazing phones like REALME 1 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro launching in India, it is hard for Xiaomi to compete with such mediocre devices.
