LG has, for many years now, been launching smartphones that have had an amazing camera built in.
Check out this post for camera samples

It all started with LG G4 which had one of the best cameras in a smartphone in the year it was launched.

This was followed by the not so successful LG G5. Though this smartphone didn't sell that well due to its awkward design, it had one of the best smartphone cameras.

And the current latest in the G series is the G6.

Though its now a year old and G7 is expected to drop soon, it is still one of the best smartphone cameras you can get.

I have an LG G5 and it shoots amazing photos. LG G6 is slightly better than the G5!

It has a dual camera setup at the back. There are two 13 megapixel sensors but each has a lens of different focal length.

The primary sensor has a bright f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization or OIS.
This setup allows for capturing great quality, detailed and sharp images in both bright as well as low light conditions. The brighter lens along with OIS really capture great images at night.

Auto HDR is present that really helps capture great dynamic range in a scene.

There is also dual LED flash if you need it.

Presence of OIS helps with video stabilization as well. Videos are generally quite smooth and detailed. You have slow motion video as well as 4K video options as well.

The second sensor has a wide angle lens. This allows for a great style of photography.

With the wide angle lens, you can capture a lot more scene from the same place. it really helps in travel photography.

When you travel, you usually capture amazing landscapes or monuments. The wide angle allows all of it to be accompanied in one single shot without requiring a panorama. The images from the second lens, though lack a bit of detail, are very sharp and vibrant.

The camera app has a full-fledged manual mode for those who like to tinker with settings and there is an option to shoot in RAW format as well.

The selfie camera is a 5 megapixel sensor with a wide lens for group selfies.
Though the megapixel count me be less than the competition, the quality of selfies is good.

And, there is Auto HDR for the front camera as well. This really helps in taking great quality HDR selfies.

For night selfies, there is a built-in screen flash.

Overall, it is the best camera you can buy under 30,000 rupees. OnePlus 5T or the Honor View10 don't stand a chance.

THE REST

The rest of the package on the smartphone is great too.

It has a great quality Quad HD resolution 5.7 inch IPS LCD screen. It has 18:9 screen ratio and follows the latest almost bezel-less design.

Download Some amazing and unique wallpapers for it here.

The screen also supports Dolby Vision and HDR-10 technology.

It is also water and dust resistant with an IP68 rating.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 with Adreno 530 GPU which is still one of the most powerful as well as battery efficient chipsets.

There is no lag whatsoever in day to day use. And while LG's custom software is nothing great, it doesn't bother the chipset one bit.

The phone comes with the latest USB-C connector for charging. It supports fast charging via Quick Charge 3.0. It has a decent 3300 mAh battery capacity as well.

It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage with fast 4 GB of RAM. It also has micro SD card memory expansion option.
It has all the necessary sensors built in, including a fast fingerprint sensor to the back.

It currently runs Android Nougat and LG has said that Oreo update will be provided.

WHAT'S BAD

There is nothing much bad here to say but a few things you definitely should know!

  • Latest Android updates are slow to arrive.

  • Battery life could have been better if it had a 1080p screen.

THE NEXT BEST OPTION

OnePlus 5T for sure!
