Xiaomi Redmi 5 | Not worth your money! | First Impressions

Redmi 5 | First Impressions

Today, on 14 March 2018, Xiaomi launched a new model of its Redmi lineup - the Redmi 5.

When Xiaomi had announced this smartphone first in China some time back, it was one of the most awaited smartphones in India.

Everyone waited for Xiaomi to launch this handset in India.

But after today's launch in India, is this smartphone worth your money?
Or are their better options available...?

Let's find out!

Not worth the price!

There, I said it!

Redmi 5 is not worth the money at all!

Redmi 5 has been launched in 3 variations. Let's check them out.

  • 2 GB RAM & 16 GB Storage
This storage variant of the Redmi 5 has just 2 GB RAM & 16 GB of storage and has been priced at ₹7999/-

This is absolutely horrendous pricing. Even cheaper Redmi 3s models had higher ram and storage.

Why pay ₹8000 for just an addition of 18:9 screen when you can buy better phones for just ₹5000/-.

  • 3 GB RAM & 32 GB Storage
This variant is priced at ₹8999/- or ₹9000. Again, at this price is just not recommendable to anyone.

Reason? Redmi Note 5

Why would anyone pay 9000 Rs for a smartphone with a lower quality screen, lower battery capacity, and a lower quality camera?

He can easily buy the Redmi Note 5 for just rs 1000 more and get a better and bigger screen, better camera and a huge battery.

Check out the best camera smartphone under Rs 15000!

  • 4 GB RAM & 64 GB Storage
This variant is most senseless variant launched. It has been priced at 10,999 rs or almost 11,000 Rs.

When an altogether better smartphone (Redmi Note 5) is available at Rs 9999, then why would anyone buy an inferior phone by paying 1000 rs more.

Plus, for just 12,000 Xiaomi offers the same RAM and storage configuration for the Redmi Note 5 which is a far better smartphone.

Awesome Wallpapers for your smartphone!

Strategy to drive sales of Redmi Note 5

I personally think Xiaomi has launched these smartphones in order to drive the same of Redmi Note 5 even further.

I see no reason why anyone should waste their hard earned money on the Redmi 5.

It might still become a success...But xiaomi is only making a fool of us with this sort of pricing for this smartphone.

To top it all, EVEN THIS SMARTPHONE WILL BE SOLD VIA FLASH SALES....as if the Redmi Note 5 sales weren't enough torture.

What do you think of this smartphone?

Is it overpriced?
